Oahu Dream Weddings Floral Set-Ups

The pristine beauty of Hawaii’s beaches and ocean serves as an exceptional backdrop for any ceremony. However, you may want to enhance the ambiance that create a "sense of place" with elements that evoke a distinctly Hawaiian atmosphere.

Clients have the option to select individual components such as the Tiki flower setup, Orchid circle lei, or individual Orchid flowers, or may choose to combine all elements for a cohesive presentation, as illustrated above.

It is important to note that the Tiki setup can only be accommodated at Waialae/Kahala or Magic Island. The circle lei and spot flowers are permitted at most all locations. As stipulated by our DLNR permit, and external decorations other than ODWS ceremony decorations are prohibited.

**No on Arches and Chairs**

We have successfully conducted ceremonies for groups of over 30 guests without any setup or chairs, yielding normal results and happy clients.

Instead of chairs, arches, etc., we encourage you to invest in elements that provide enduring value  such as a larger package with more photography, videography, live music, floral arrangements, cake, and toasting services, among other meaningful offerings.

Should your vision include a setup with chairs and arches, we recommend engaging a hotel or private estate where such arrangements can be properly facilitated. This option will naturally be costly but, their grounds are private and suited for ceremonies and they may offer indoor accommodations should weather dictate.

Consider the following points:

1. Chairs and arches are not permitted on any Hawaiian beaches per permit regulations, though they may be allowed at Magic Island and in designated areas of Waialae Beach Park.

2. The average duration of the ceremony is between 10 to 12 minutes, making the extra expense for a setup questionable at best.

3. The addition of such setup complicates what is typically a straightforward beach wedding, leading to higher costs and logistical challenges.

4. A predetermined setup restricts your location options to specific areas within those beach parks, potentially compromising scenery and lighting.

5. Public areas are inherently unpredictability with unexpected occurrences, such as maintenance vehicles, bystanders, or adverse weather, can adversely affect your ceremony.

6. In the event of unforeseen circumstances, such as inclement weather, it will be impossible to relocate to an alternate venue.

7. On uneven terrain, setups such as arches and gazebos often appear misaligned, and chairs placed in sand may not provide stable seating.

8. Experience suggests that a significant portion of guests will prefer to stand or seek shade when possible. Empty chairs in photographs can detract from the overall aesthetic of the event. 9. Consider the discomfort of having guests seated in direct sunlight, along with the aforementioned challenges.
