Waialae/Kahala Beach is just past Diamond Head a couple of miles east of Waikiki.
We walk up the beach about 200 yards from the parking lot. It's hard-packed sand most of the way and only the distance would be a challenge for the mobility impaired .
We perform most ceremonies on the grass and under the shade of the trees though, we can go on the sand.
Ceremony times at 9 am or 10 am are best. It's much cooler, great for photos, the least busy, and parking is usually not a problem.
After 10 am, best to use our transportation, taxi, Uber, or Lyft.
Note: Given the government restrictions and closure of Windward beaches, Waialae-Kahala has become busy throughout the day and especially starting mid-morning to afternoon. We do not suggest ceremonies after 10 am, the earlier the better.
