About Photo Coverage

"The bitterness of poor quality lingers long after the sweetness of low cost is forgotten".

Our photo coverage is perfect for those wanting something simple, professional, high quality, and affordable.

The photographer will select the ceremony and portrait spots and set you in position to achieve the best possible views and lighting for photos given the conditions that day. Since his expertise determines the outcome and success of your photograpy, sites are at the sole discretion of the photographer.

Photo coverage begins at the start of the ceremony unless, conditions dictate otherwise.

We photograph the ceremony and follow with the portrait session including full-length, close-up, scenic, and a group shot of all participants and photos of a cake service, toast, sunset session, additional portrait sessions, or Photo Tour if ordered.

We shoot in a storytelling progression throughout the ceremony and portrait session which creates a logical visual presentation of your event. This makes for effortless and relaxed posing and allows for a comfortable and deliberate flow for your imagery.

Following your event, there's still a ton of work to be completed. Unlike most websites, we don't just give you JPEG's processed "in-camera". Instead, we shoot "RAW" files for maximum capture information which allows for precise control over the look of our photos. Yes, it's significantly more work than letting the camera do it but, it's the only way to get exactly the look we want.

This requires that each "RAW" photo to be manually "processed" to our interpretation of the optimum color balance, contrast, exposure, and other parameters. It takes on average of 1-2 hours depending upon the number of photos shot.

Following RAW processing, we'll upload your personal "WebPhotoGallery" and email you a link with instructions on how to select your photos.

Uploads can take a couple of hours and we may have multiple weddings that day consequently, you can understand why we can't just get your photos to you the same day as you would with "in-Camera" processing or photographers who can just give you a SDHC card.

Once uploaded and the link email sent, your "WebPhotoGallery" will be available for (30) days to allow you to make selections.

When we receive your selections, we'll send you a "Final Service Invoice" which includes your credit card transaction fees and last minute upgrades.

Upon payment, you'll receive a email from our service "WeTransfer" to download your photos. It will be available on-line for (30) days. You may also share the download link with your family and friends or select photos you wish to share and use "WeTransfer" for free up to 2 GB.

If you have chosen to receive your photo files (or video) on a USB stick or a DVD disk, we'll mail your product to the address on your contract.

Finally, we are not an archive service. We suggest immediately backing-up your files to other storage media, drives, cloud services, etc. We try to keep them for a while but, given technology, storage limits, and unintended accidents, we acn't "guaranty" anything past (30) days. If you do experience an "accident" check back with us to see if we still have your files.

Photo FAQ

How can we tell what you show is what we'll get?

As you might imagine,  entire websites have been sold and re-sold to new owners and modernized using the same photos and resources consequently, you never know if what you see is from the photographer doing your photos!

Our company has been using the same professionals since the start and all of the images you see on our website is from the same photographer. Yes, you're gonna get what you see on our website!

Do we get prints?

No and excuse us for saying, any website that offers you prints for your photo package is just waiting to charge you more. Simply, "prints" from a desktop computer printer have little to no value compared to receiving the actual JPEG photo files from which you can make your own prints!

What are Hi-Res JPEG photo files?

They are high resolution JPEG files produced after our custom "RAW" processing. These JPEG files will allow you to make your own high-quality photo prints from the smallest size and up 40x60 and larger possible.

How many photos do we get?

The number of photos included with your package. You can add more photos on your contract before or after the ceremony. Our best prices will be for a pre-order listed on your contract.

How many photos do you shoot?

We shoot more than enough to give a good variety and selection of images to choose from. For a normal small ceremony with just the couple it's usually is up to 100 sometimes more. If you add extended photo sessions, cake, sunset, toast, etc., it will be 100-200.

Do we select our own photos?

Yes. You will do this using our WebPhotoGallery. Using a desktop or laptop computer is best as we can never be sure how it renders on any particular pad, phone, or OS.

What is a WebPhotoGallery?

This is a personal website for viewing and selecting your photos. It will be uploaded within 7 days after the ceremony, most times sooner, and will contain all the photos except, those which we shot for exposure or other tests and/or photos where there is a selection of better ones. The gallery will be available for (30) days thereafter, it can be remade and re-posted for an additional fee.

Each photo will have a copy-protection watermark unless, you pre-order ALL the photos and no watermark will be present.

How do we get our photos?

After you've emailed us your selections and paid your Final Service Invoice, we'll upload your photos to our file transfer service "WeTransfer". Your photos will be available for download for (30) days thereafter, it can be uploaded again for an additional fee.

How long do you store photos?

We are only responsible to hold your photo files for (30) days after we send out your WebPhotoGallery to make your selections.

Can we get our photos on a USB stick or DVD disk?

Yes. We send our photo (and video) files electronically over the Internet to clients all over the world without a problem. With that said, if you struggle with computers, have a weak internet service, or have problems with our download, you may need to order a physical method.

Can our family and guests take photos and video?

We allow guests to take photos and video during the ceremony, under the direction of the minister and photographer. We do not allow photography by anyone after the ceremony when directed proprietary work is being performed. That includes the license signing, cake, toast, portrait sessions, or any scene our photographer is directing.

FYI: Any non-AHW photographer or a person acting as such, determined solely by the minister and our photographer will not be allowed to photograph and/or will be required to leave the ceremony site until, all AHW services are completed.

Can we get different style of photography than on your website?

Not really. The style you see is what our photographer does. It's predictable, repeatable, and we do it every time.

Can we requests shots?

We require a specific photo coverage to fulfill our contract and all photos taken are at the sole discretion of the photographer. With that said, if it's just a simple shot, just ask the photographer understanding that, if it requires a series of shots, poses, or groupings, you may be asked to add an extra photo session (if he is able to stay longer). Best to add it to your contract so, time will be scheduled.

Can the ceremony or photos be at another spot?

Ceremony and photo spots are selected specifically to allow us to perform the most successful event given the location and time. We avoid areas with a history of being physically unsafe or problematic.

If we have a ceremony close to sunset, will we get sunset photos?

Understand that, we cannot shoot into the sun and use the sunset as a background for ceremonies, it's just too bright. he variety of shots for a ceremony coverage requires that the sunlight is facing you and many times as the sun gets low, clouds block it and it's shade or even dark.

With that said, we may be able to get a shot if the location, time, and conditions are right. It's best to schedule a sunset session on your contract.

Copyright

We'll include a PDF of a copyright release for personal use which allows you to use your photos for making prints and sharing your photos for non-commercial usage. As is normal photography practice, we retain all copyright priviledges.

How do you work?

A normal package photo coverage is about 15 minutes after the ceremony.

We work smartly and efficiently, making our sessions fun and enjoyable. We do not rush (unless, you are late) and it's pretty quick. We kind of do it like a fashion photo shoot consequently, a normal photo couple only coverage is about 12-15 minutes following the ceremony. About a half hour for everything.

Coverage is shot in a logical progression which enables us to get a greater variety of shots, more photos, and in a lesser amount of time than doing it otherwise.

This not only saves time, it'll also save you unnecessary extra expense for other vendors waiting to get it done (limousine, etc.) and gets you off and away to your next event sooner.

FYI: Don't fall for the "hour of photography" gimmick. There's really only so much you can do with a couple before it starts getting boring, redundent, and a waste of time.

How do you photograph?

All of our beach locations are out in the open, there's bright sun and there's wind but, you'll notice that our photos look great and are very consistent from shot to shot, wedding to wedding, and location to location.

We accomplish this by shooting in a style and lighting technique that allows us to create our "look" quickly and consistently at all beach locations, times, and conditions.

Do you "fix" and/or "edit" photos?

We shoot RAW files and process each individual photo to our interpretation of the optimum color balance, contrast, and exposure. We do try to remove small distractions, helicopters, planes, birds, and people in the background, if we can.

With that said, we do not get rid of wrinkles, messy hair, blinks, swap heads, remove bandages or tatoo's, make people thinner, or remove large distractions or people from the backgrounds.

Note: None of those photos on our website have been fixed or "Photoshopped" other than using our normal processing explained above.

What is a "Certified Professional Photographer"?

Unfortunately, websites use the term "certified" or "licensed" for their photographers so frequently that, it's now meaningless. Our Top Photographer has earned "CPP" status and awarded that designation in 1999 by the Professional Photographers of America.

Locations our photographer has shot weddings.

This is a list of the locations where our photographer has shot weddings besides the beach locations we currently use listed on our website.

And at these locations, worked with dozens of ministers, scores of other professionals including videographers, florists, limousine companies, musicians, DJ's, MC's, hotel and banquet managers, and planners, and just about anyone who provides wedding services to local couples.

We may have missed a few but, you get the idea.... this is a lot of wedding experience that's hard to match by any "tourist wedding website jockey"!
